Any Mac running Mac OS X 10.7 or later has a 64-bit processor. If you are on Mac OS X 10.7 or later, you can run either the direct sale version or the Mac App Store version of Comic Strip Factory.
What if I’m on Mac OS X 10.6?
If your Mac is running Mac OS X 10.6 (also known as Snow Leopard), it cannot run the direct sale version of Comic Strip Factory. However, it can run the Mac App Store version of Comic Strip Factory if it has a 64-bit processor.
To determine if your Mac has a 64-bit processor, choose About This Mac from the Apple menu. You will see a panel that looks like this:
Look at the line that says Processor. Skip past the processor speed (2.33 GHz in this example) and look at the processor name. This example is Intel Core 2 Duo, which is a 64-bit processor.
If, however, it says Intel Core Solo or Intel Core Duo, it is a 32-bit processor and is not compatible with Comic Strip Factory.
Any other processor on a Mac running Mac OS X 10.6 is a 64-bit processor and is compatible with Comic Strip Factory.
All of these processors are 64-bit:
Intel Core 2 Duo
Intel Quad-Core Xeon
Dual-Core Intel Xeon
Quad-Core Intel Xeon
Core i3
Core i5
Core i7
